I. Privacy & Security Statement
At Sunrise Family Credit Union (SFCU), we take the security of your financial life personally. As we provide modern methods to access your money, we maintain rigorous safeguards to protect your data.
Our Privacy Commitment
- Anonymity: Visitors to our website remain anonymous. We do not collect personal identifying information about visitors to our site.
- Standard Tracking: Our servers collect non-identifying information (date/time, IP address, city/state) to compile usage statistics.
- Email Privacy: If you provide identifying information via email, it is used only to handle your specific request. It is never sold or transferred to third parties.
- Third-Party Service Providers: We partner with trusted providers to conduct operations. These partners are contractually bound to keep your information confidential.
Safe Online Banking Practices
- Encryption: We use 128-bit encryption for all "Virtual Branch" transmissions. We strongly encourage members to use modern browsers that support this high level of security.
- Password Responsibility: Your password is your key. If you share it, you are responsible for all transactions conducted on your account, authorized or not.
- Applications: Information received via online applications is protected by industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other identifying information. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
II. Terms & Conditions of Your Account

The Agreement
This document, along with your signature card, is a contract. By opening or continuing to use an account, you agree to these rules, SFCU Bylaws, and applicable Michigan and Federal laws.
Member Liability
You are responsible for all charges and overdrafts on your account. Each account holder is "jointly and severally" liable, meaning we can deduct a debt from the account balance regardless of which owner caused the shortage or benefited from it. This includes our costs to collect the deficit, including reasonable attorneys’ fees.
Deposit & Withdrawal Rules
- Provisional Credit: All non-cash deposits are "provisional" until final collection.
- Order of Payments: To help you avoid excessive fees, our policy is to process and pay the smallest items first each day.
Account Ownership Types
- Individual: Owned by one person.
- Joint (With Survivorship): Owned by two or more people. Upon death, the balance belongs to the survivors.
- Joint (No Survivorship): Owned as "Tenants in Common"; no automatic right of survivorship exists.
- Revocable Trust: Owned by creators; beneficiaries have no rights until all creators pass away.

Types of Transfers Available
- Direct Deposits: Arrange for recurring credits to your Savings or Checking.
- SFCU Debit/MasterMoney™ Card: Access your funds for POS purchases, ATM withdrawals, and phone orders.
- Audio Banking (833-511-0563): 24/7 telephone access for transfers and balance inquiries.
- Online Banking: Secure computer-based transfers and account management.
Limits & Protections
- ATM Cash Limit: You may withdraw up to $500.00 per 24-hour period. You have the option to lower this limit to $50.00 for added security.
- MasterCard Zero Liability: You are not liable for unauthorized transactions if you exercised reasonable care and report the loss promptly.
- Reporting Lost Cards: If you tell us within 2 business days of a lost card/PIN, your liability is limited to $50. After 2 days, liability can jump to $500. If an error on your statement isn't reported within 60 days, you may lose all protection.

Common Features
- Membership: You must complete payment of one share ($10.00 par value) in your Share Savings as a condition of membership.
- Dividend Nature: Dividends are paid from current income and available earnings after required transfers to reserves.
- Insurance: Member accounts are federally insured by the NCUA.

V. Error Resolution & Contact
In Case of Errors
If you think your statement or receipt is wrong, call or write to us immediately. We must hear from you no later than 60 days after we sent the first statement on which the error appeared.
- Provide your name and account number.
- Describe the error and the dollar amount.
- If reported orally, we may require a written complaint within 10 business days.

VI. Protecting Children's Privacy (COPPA)
SFCU complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. Our youth sites (Early Bird, iCount, and It's Your Life) are designed for educational fun and do not collect data for participation.
